Step 5: Reassembling the Machine

  1. Remember the clip? Sure you do!
  2. Make sure that the case’s cover is aligned correctly, Remember the clip? Sure you do! Press down on the front so that it snaps back into place.
  3. Press on the right side so that that section of the case snaps back into place.
  4. Repeat for the left side.
  5. Put back the left hex screw into place. Tighten it well, but not too much.
  6. Do the same thing for the right hex screw.
  7. Close the lid of the laptop.
  8. Turn the laptop around so that you see the Apple logo right-side up. Put back the upper left screw. Secured well, but not overtightened.
  9. Put back the upper right screw.
  10. Open the screen hinge to 90º and let the computer rest on its left side. Screw the right side’s three screws. You know the drill.
  11. Flip your computer over and repeat on the other side for the remaining three side screws.
  12. Close the lid and let your laptop rest upside down. Refasten the four screws that you took out earlier.
  13. Fasten the screws indicated by the yellow triangles in the photo.
