Reinstalling the Memory and Battery

Step 5: Reinstalling the Memory and Battery

(Click on the first thumbnail for detailed instructions)

  1. Insert your memory stick with a slight angle, like 20º. If you have two memory sticks, make sure you put it in the bottom slot first!
  2. Once the memory stick is aligned, press down so that the metal blades slip back into place. It shouldn’t take too much force. Make sure that everything is aligned. Repeat for the second memory stick if you have one.
  3. Screw the memory cover plate back on using the four screws that you carefully set aside at the beginning.
  4. Put the battery in its dock, connector side first.
  5. Press down gently on the battery. A mechanical sound will confirm that its secured.
  6. Voilà, turn on your computer and reinstall OS X or restore your backup.
